Q: How can I list my home on your site?

A: The easiest way is to use our online form located here or call us at 1-877-664-SOLD (7653).

Q: How much does it cost to list my home with Private Real Estate?

A: This depends on your region. In Southern Ontario your cost is $595 and we advertise your home until SOLD. In all other regions it costs $295 and we advertise your home until SOLD. For details on these packages and services, see "List Your Home" to your left.

Q: How much commission do you charge?

A: We do not charge commission, nor do we have any hidden costs.  We charge one flat rate until your house sells after which time you owe us nothing else.

Q: What do I receive when I list with Private Real Estate?

A: This depends on which package you order.  We have a premium package for home sellers and a cottage country package.  Click here to view the packages and what features each includes.

Q: How do you advertise?

A: We advertise using the following mediums:

Newspapers
Search Engines & various other internet sources
Signage
Radio (Listen to our newest radio ads by clicking here)
TV (View our current TV commercial by clicking here)

Q: How long does it take after I order for my house to show up on the website?

A: We will have your house on our site within 24 hours (assuming we can come and take pictures in that time frame).  If you order online and e-mail your photos, we can have your home up in a matter of a few hours.  We deliver your sign(s) when it is convenient for you (Premium package only).

Q: I am getting the error "BAD REQUEST: Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.  The request line contained invalid characters following the protocol string."  What should I do?

A: Download the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.

Q: How do we get our photos to you?

A: The preferred method is to email your photos. Please save all photos in jpg format and make them a maximum of 640x480 pixels in size. If you are unsure how to format your photos as stated, email them unformatted and we will adjust them accordingly.  Alternatively, one of our reps will be happy to come to your home and take photos for you (Premium package only).  Remember, you can send unlimited photos or we will come and take as many as you want (Promotional package may only send 7 photos).

Q: Do you have a limited area within which you come to take photos and drop off signs?

A: Yes.  We currently only provide photography services and sign drop-off in an area bounded to the north by Toronto, to the south by Port Dover, to the east by Fort Erie, and to the west by Woodstock.  Customers outside this area are invited to order the promotional package (which does not require a rep to come to their house) and e-mail us their photos.
